Spotlights are one of the most useful and flexible tools that anyone can own, and whether you need one for use in the workshop, or for making it easy to get about in the dark, you will soon find that you will come to rely on it at regular intervals.  One of the biggest names in the industry is Vector spotlights, and this company, which was recently taken over by Black and Decker, has been renowned for their high quality and reliable products for many years.

Offering considerably more power than a standard flashlight, spotlights are designed to provide a very bright source of illumination that will ensure that normal activities can be carried out in almost complete darkness.  Some Vector spotlights are able to provide the equivalent light of up to twenty million candles.  Spotlights can be mounted on a vehicle, or hand held to allow for excellent light coverage and there are both plug in and battery powered versions.

One of the most appealing aspects of Vector spotlights is their high power rechargeable battery packs which can be charged from a power source such as the standard plug socket in a vehicle.  This makes them ideal for carrying with you on a camping or hunting trip into the woods.  With a good quality spotlight, you will be able to find your way through any terrain at night, or even attract the attention of other people nearby should you need help.

There are a number of different Vector spotlights in the range, and they all serve different purposes thanks to their slightly different levels of power and their configuration.

The entry level Vector Spotlight, the VEC134Y is a high powered and reliable spotlight.  Once plugged into a suitable 12 volt power source, it will provide 1 million candles of light thanks to its high power halogen bulb.  The high impact polycarbonate casing is bright yellow, and features an ergonomic grip to make it easy to use, as well as a convenient hook to allow for hands free use.

For a little more money above the cost of the corded model, Vector spotlights offer a rechargeable model, the VEC127Y, which is built to the same high standard, and also features the same impressive 1 million candles of power.  A full charge will provide enough power for the spotlight to work effectively for around 30 minutes on full power, while a work light in the handle that provides enough illumination for some small tasks will last for up to 25 hours.

One of the most recent innovations in the Vector spotlights range has been the introduction of a number of twin beam spotlights that offer twice the standard power, and still feature all the benefits that you would expect from one of the leading manufacturers such as reliability, hard wearing cases, and ease of use.  Despite their higher power drain thanks to the second bulb, you can still enjoy plenty of use from these devices, with models like the VEC139BY being able to provide more than 30 minutes of light from a single charge.  One of the most impressive things about this model is that it also features a 12v DC outlet so that you can discharge the battery into other devices to provide a charge to cell phones.

The most powerful model in the Vector spotlights range is the formidable VEC192 spotlight.  This impressive looking model offers 20 million candles of power, and can provide an immense amount of light under any circumstances where it is needed.  With up to 25 minutes of full power light available from a single charge and a high quality ABS shell that is impact and water resistant, this light will be sure to provide you with many years of reliable service under normal circumstances.

With the takeover by Black and Decker still on the minds of many buyers of Vector spotlights, the company has been quick to reassure that the investment in the company will continue and that all products will continue to be supported in the future.  The advanced battery technology brought to Vector by B&D means that in the future, the company hopes that it will be able to offer even more powerful and efficient flashlights that will give users all the light that they could conceivably want without worrying about battery life.
