Everyone ends up having to drive screws around the house and around the shop. Its inevitable. Screws are part of everyday life and driving them into wall plates, swing sets, decks and a multitude of other things is hard to avoid. Today's cordless screwdrivers are only slightly heavier and fatter than the old manual style. (Battery technology has come a long to making them slimmer and lighter.) They make those tedious and repetitive jobs go much quicker and is easier on your wrist. Cordless screwdrivers are less powerful than your cordless drill. This is actually an advantage to using your cordless drill as a screwdriver. For one thing you are lot less likely to damage the object you are fastening your screw into. For example, have you ever driven a screw right through a plastic wall plate? I have and it drives me nuts. A cordless screwdriver has a much lighter touch. This also makes them lighter and easier to tote around. You can just slide one right into your tool belt and forget its there.
Cordless screwdrivers are very different from their cordless drill cousins and come packed with features. Most models have a single toggle switch. Push one side to tighten screws and the other side to loosen them. Most models come equipped with an adjustable clutch or a removable battery pack. You can keep one battery on the charger and one in the cordless screwdriver. This way you should always have a fresh battery when you need it. All models hold standard ¼ inch hex bits in a quick change collet, so you can change from a Phillips head to a flat head then to a square head.  You can even get a cordless screwdriver  than is hinged in the middle. This allows to bend the tool up to 90 degrees to get into weird areas and use it as a pistol grip.
