Since 1920, Kwik Way has designed, manufactured, and distributed their innovative machines and products in the USA, and has truly set the standard, particularly for its famous valve refacers. Throughout the years, Kwik Way has improved drastically on the further expansion of their products, and has also exceeded customer expectations making them the established company it is today.
During the 20’s, except for a mostly unsuccessful method, there was no practical way to recondition a valve or valve seat of a car. The founders of Kwik Way realized the strong need for a valve reconditioner. After much trial and error- style concoctions, the engineers finally came up with a successful product- the Kwik Way principle of cylinder head reconditioning. Finally, the automobile world had an industrious valve reconditioner that worked! The feature that made the machine work was the now famous Kwik Way Six Ball Chucking System. Then, the sales literature about the Six Ball Chucking System described this revolutionary machine as “A masterpiece of modern mechanical engineering”.
In 1932, Kwik Way produced the first modern cylinder-boring machine, which is still recognized as being at the top of the line in its class today. Engineers expanded on this machine’s capabilities throughout the years in order to accommodate trends and necessities in the United States. Kwik Way contributed its piston grinders to grind glass radio crystals for the war effort during World War II. At the time, it was the only modern technology available with that specific capability. They also contributed torque wrenches to the war effort, which apparently turn up in auctions occasionally on the internet.
In between the 60’s and 70’s, Kwik Way acquired 3 companies that enabled them to expand
