Eye Wash Station

On construction job sites having an emergency eye wash station is critical to the safety of your workers and also may be required by law in some states. However, the reality is that it may not be practical to hook up a permanently mounted eye wash shower. What do you do? Well, there are several options that are worth looking at. The first option is to mount bottles of eye wash solution that can be squirted into your eyes to flush out some chemical or other irritant. This is the easiest and most cost effective choice. However, you may be required to have an eye wash station that can flush for a sustained 15 minutes. This can present a challenge in an area where a water source is not available. The Fendall PortaStream II may be your best bet. This eye wash station can hold 16 gallons of Eyesaline solution and will flush for the required 15 minutes. It comes with a carrying handle and made from a durable plastic. It is the ideal emergency eye eash station for the remote construction job site.

Air Saw Equals Light Weight Plus Cutting Power

If you are looking for an air tool that can easily cut through sheet metal and perform a wide range of cutting jobs, look no further than a reciprocating air saw. Most of us are familiar with the cordless or corded variety found in your tool kit but the air powered version is mainly know to auto body shops and the industrial market. The air saw deserves a second look if you do not already own one. These little workhorses can produce 10,000 cycles per minute and cut through metal up to 16 gauge. An air saw is also much lighter and more powerful than its electric cousin. All you need is access to an air compressor and some air hose. Air tools generally boast more power than electric versions of the same tool and generally are more durable. So next time you need to cut some sheet metal, grab an air saw and start cutting!

Underhood Light

If you spend a good portion of your work day buried under the hood of a car you are working on. Then you know the challenges of having adequate light to see what you are working on. An automobile's engine compartment is a dark and dirty environment and the last thing you want to happen is to lose a tiny nut and not be able to locate it. This is where an underhood light is invaluable. These fluorescent work lights are mounted right to the bottom on the hood and usually spans the entire distance. This gives you far more lighting and coverage than just an incandescent light bulb. An underhood light literally brings the same fluorecent light hanging from your shop roof only its right on top of your work area. We all know that a car's hood can cast a pretty big shadow and block your ceiling work lights. With an underhood light, your troubles will be over.

1" Impact Wrench

I am looking for a 1" impact wrench that has an extended anvil on it. I need it to reach at least 5 inches. Currently, I have a standard anvil on the 1 inch I have had for years, but I have a difficult job coming up that requires me to be able to get to nut in a very hard to reach place. All I need is for my impact to reach down 5 inches and I can get to it. What is available that could help me? Also, I will be carrying to tool a relatively long distance every day from my truck to the job site. So I don't want something that weighs a ton.

The 1" impact wrench that will fit your needs perfectly is the Ingersoll Rand 2190 Titanium with a 6 inch extended anvil. This 1" impact wrench is lighter than the average 1 inch model and has the torque you will need to break the toughest nut. It has a working torque of 1200 ft/lbs. Its the titanium that makes this model lighter and easier to carry.

Fluorescent Work Light

If you are looking for lighting in your automotive shop or industrial work place, a Fluorescent work light is a good option. Most mechanics have tried using the inexpensive incandescent work lights that you can get at your local hardware store. Their primary selling feature is the low cost and any light bulb works in them. However, as you get into more and more difficult spaces and work environments, it may be time to move into a nicer Fluorescent work light. A common configuration is the twin fluorescent light with a 50 foot retractable reel. The twin lights provide better lighting than a conventional light bulb and they are protected by a solid plastic face plate instead of metal cage like incandescent work lights. The 50 foot retractable reel is a very nice feature and makes clean up a breeze. The cord just automatically reels back in and there is no long extension cord to deal with. The reel can also be easily mounted on a wall for quick access.

LED Keychain Flashlight

I have recently purchased several Coast LED flashlights and I love the LED bulbs. They are superior to any flashlight that I have owned before. This Christmas I would love to give away some smaller LED flashlights to my customers as gifts. However, the Coast lights are out of my budget to use as a giveaway. Does anyone make an LED Keychain Flashlight? That would be perfect as a gift.

We carry several different types of LED keychain flashlights and one of these should be perfect as a give away item. We carry the Photon Micro Light brand and these are the ones that have different colors and are very small. They are great for finding a door lock in pitch black and providing a little light. We also carry the titanium Keymate keychain LED flashlight. These come in white as well as other colors. This product looks like a miniature Maglite and they are very popular.

Maglite LED Flashlight

I have been a long time user of Maglight flashlights. My brother used to be a police officer and thats all they used. I have had mine for literally 20 years and its still going strong. I have yet to find a flashlight as tough and well built. However, mine still uses a light bulb and I have seen that now companies are using LED bulbs. Is there a Maglight LED Flashlight?

Yes, Maglight produces some of the finest LED flashlights on the market. They look the same as the Maglight you are used to using. The main difference is the LED lights and all the advantages that come with them. One of the main features of LED bulbs is they are shock resistant. This makes your Maglight LED Flashlight even tougher than your older version. LED lights are also a lot easier on the batteries, so you can go much longer in the dark.

3/8 Impact Wrench is a little workhorse

I work on large marine vessels and ships and I am constantly crawling into tight spaces to work on something that has broken or I am repairing. I have access to an air compressor and get an air hose to most places I work. The 1/2 inch impact wrench I am using works great but I need something I can fit into the palm of my hand to get some rusty little bolts. Is there a solution out there?

It sounds like a butterfly 3/8 impact wrench is what the doctor ordered. The Ingersoll Rand IR 211 is a palm grip 3/8 impact wrench that will almost fit entirely into the palm of your hand. Basically if can get your fist into a tight space, this 3/8 impact wrench should do the trick. It is one of the handiest air tools you can own. This little gem has a working torque of 125 ft/lbs and and will do 1500 blows per minute.

Coast LED flashlights and Coast cutlery

I have been a long time customer of Coast Cutlery and I was a browsing through your site when I came across a Coast LED flashlight. Are these LED flashlights made by the same company that produced the knives I own?

Coast started out in 1919 as a cutlery company and over the years has expanded their product line to include the high quality Coast LED flashlight. Coast holds patents on advanced technology for LED lights and is one of the industry leaders in this growing market. Their LED flashlights have become extremely popular due to the fact they have applied the same level of quality and craftsmanship that made them a successful cutlery company to their extensive line of Coast LED flashlights.

Jump Starter Compressor Combination

Does someone make a battery jump starter that also has a built in air compressor? Right now I am lugging a small portable air compressor and a jump starter in the back of my Tahoe and it sure would make things easier if there was unit that combined all of these features.

There are 2 jump starter compressor combo models we carry that should suit your needs. The first is the K&K Jump Starter Compressor for the Emergency Response Unit. This jump starter comes with extra long cables, built in air compressor, automatic recharging and an air gauge. We also carry the Black and Decker Jump Starter Compressor with portable power supply. Both of these jump starter compressors can handle most road side emergencies and get you moving again.
