Air Compressor CFM Needed for my Air Tools

If you are wondering what type and size air tools you can run with air compressor. We have no provided a handy chart. You can use this chart as a reference to find out what kinds of tools and equipment your air compressor can handle. Most air tools run at 90 to 100 psi but there CFM requirements can vary dramatically. For example a die grinder only requires 4 CFM while a disc sander needs around 20 CFM to operate effectively. Both of these air tools are rated at 90 PSI. Its a common misconception that pressure or engine horsepower determines what an air compressor can run. Really, its the CFM that will make you or break you. So if you are running out to buy some air tools look no further than this chart to make sure your shop air compressor can handle it.
