The Brake Equalizer

Ever since disc brakes were introduced problems with uneven brake wear, premature brake wear, warped and overheated rotors because of stuck calipers and front end pull have plagued the automotive industry. Historically, when a customer came to the repair garage with one of the above problems the technician had to guess and replace expensive parts that might be the cause of the problem. That practice of guessing is what inevitably will get even the best technician in trouble with the customer
To use the Brake equalizer for testing, simply install the rectangular end (load cell) in place of a brake pad on both the left and right brake calipers of the car. On some cars this can be done while the brake caliper is still mounted on the spindle. On other cars the brake caliper has to be removed and the load cell placed between the brake pads. Center the load cell piston on the caliper piston. Step on the brake pedal and the caliper pressure will be displaced on the gauges.
