Whether you have a large stripping job on, or a smaller task where precision is required, there is a sandblast nozzle that is perfectly designed for your needs. Sandblasting provides you with excellent abrasive results that provide a completely uniform finish, however over time the equipment that you use can degrade and it is necessary to replace the various components of your system such as the sandblast nozzles in order to ensure that you continue to get the best results.

The Sandblast nozzle is the part of your equipment that takes the most punishment throughout any job that you do, so it is absolutely essential that you choose the highest quality nozzle possible so that it lasts well and continues to provide you with the best possible abrasive power throughout the job. Depending on the kind of job that you have to do, you need to make sure that you choose the right size of nozzle. Finer jobs will require a much more precise sandblasting nozzle, while a high pressure task that is intended to strip paint from a larger area demands that you use a wider nozzle that is capable of carrying a much larger volume of material.

Depending on the kind of abrasives that you use for sandblasting, nozzles made of different materials are available. Incredibly hard wearing metals such as tungsten carbide are a popular choice for high end nozzles, and these are designed to be able to withstand the high velocities and pressures that are involved in sandblasting.

Some tasks require a higher air pressure, and it is important to take this into account when choosing the right sandblasting nozzles for your needs. While a ceramic model will comfortably handle a relatively low level of airflow, such as around 5 CFM, in order to take on the bigger jobs, you will need a metal nozzle that can withstand a much higher level of pressure. Some tungsten carbide sandblasting nozzles are able to cope with a flow of air up to 25 CFM.

There are a wide variety of different sandblast nozzles, ranging in size from the small to the large, and in order to be able to carry out the widest possible range of tasks, it is important to have the best selection possible in stock. The nozzle controls the flow of sand or other abrasive materials, and allows the user to direct it at the area that needs clearing of paint or any other materials.

A basic sandblasting nozzle such as the Cyclone Manufacturing 7009 retails for around $12.13 per unit, and can cope with a 5CFM airflow. Made from a relatively hard wearing ceramic compound, it has an outer diameter of ½ inch, and is 1 ½ inches long, allowing it to be easily used and manageable.

In contrast to the ceramic sandblasting nozzles, tungsten carbide models offer the ability to withstand much higher levels of air passing through them. The $28 Cyclone 7080 is just ¼ inch in diameter, yet can cope with an air flow of 14CFM. This combination of a narrower channel and a higher level of air pressure gives you the ability to really cut through whatever materials you are trying to remove with ease.

One thing that is very important to be sure of when installing a new sandblaster nozzle is that you need to install a compatible air jet with it. The two parts of the system work in conjunction with each other to manage the flow of sand and air through the sandblaster in order to ensure that you get the smoothest possible jet and this in turn leads to a much more satisfactory result in terms of the finish that you are able to achieve when you are sandblasting.
