While modern cars are now more efficient than ever, they are ever more complex, and require a great deal more effort from mechanics to keep them running at optimum efficiency.  Slight imperfections in the surface of a component are enough to impair the efficiency, at which a car runs, and an important part of the regular maintenance process is to give a deep clean to certain components, and the ideal piece of equipment for this is an auto parts washer.

An auto parts washer is a device that uses water to clean any oil and contaminants off the surface of car parts.  By using extremely hot water at high pressure and a special degreaser, or a solvent the oil and grease that covers the surface of an item can be cleaned off it and get it looking as good as new, as well as helping it to run more efficiently once it is back in place within the engine.

There are a wide variety of different auto parts washers available to suit different sized workshops.  From small capacity units that are designed to clean just a couple of small items at a time through to much larger washers that will comfortably accommodate a much larger load, there is an auto parts washer that will fit into your workshop, and meet your needs perfectly.

When you are choosing the right auto parts washer for your workshop, the most important things to consider are the size of items you need to clean, and the level of power that you need.  Washers are available in a wide range of prices to suit all levels of business, from basic equipment that is designed for occasional use through to high power systems that are built to take the punishment dealt out in a very busy workshop.

If you are looking for a fairly basic auto parts washer that will get the job done, then the Astro Pneumatic ASTPWASH is a convenient and easy to set up unit that relies on a solvent based system to strip grease off the parts as it cleans them.  With a 20 gallon tank, and the capacity to hold 12 gallons of solvent, this is a light weight system that is compact enough to fit into almost any workshop without causing any problems.  At just $153.32 from Red Hill Supply, it is a fantastic deal, and will provide an excellent long term return on your investment.

A more complex auto parts washer is the Kleen Tec KLN  1230D.  One of a range of different models produced by the company, the 1230D is a 30 gallon capacity washer that sits on top of a standard drum.  As with the Astro Pneumatic model, it relies on solvent to clean off the grease, but provides much greater capacity for parts than the smaller version.  It costs around $400, but thanks to its larger capacity and faster action from a powerful 110v motor, it gets the job done to a high standard relatively quickly.

At the higher end of the auto parts washer market, there are a number of top quality models to choose from that combine a much higher intensity of temperature and pressure with a water based cleaning system to offer lower overall running costs, and a much more environmentally friendly solution to your cleaning needs throughout the whole cycle.

The Kleen Tec KLNKT9600 has a 30 inch turntable and multiple heads, a 9.0KW heating system, and an 85 gallon tank.  This powerful unit is fully automatic and can simply set and left to run for 45 minutes in order to ensure that the parts that you need are completely clean and ready for being put back into the car.  With a price tag of $6,469, the Kleen tec cleaner is designed for high capacity workshops, and provides reliable low cost service and is built to last as well as to perform.
